Original Painting, Gravity Sinkhole

Though most of this 13"x19" mixed media painting is a watercolor base, the event horizon and central bloom of star matter in the feature uses acrylic paints and flurorescent accents to better show the intensity of the celestial body through textural contrast. The starry background is difficult to photograph accurately, as it heavily utilizes swirls of purple and black watercolor with a metallic mica-based paint that gleams like a black pearl. It is absolutely brilliant in direct light and would make an excellent addtiion to a sunlit gallery wall.
